Mood Disorders

About MAPPS Treatment Services for Mood Disorders

Everyone has felt sad at one time or another, but when pain and sadness become so overwhelming that a person can't even bear to function in society, it may mean that they are suffering from a mood disorder.

There are two main classifications for mood disorders, which are clinical depression and bi-polar disorder (manic-depression). Clinical depression is defined as feelings of extreme sadness, guilt, helplessness and hopelessness, and thoughts of death. Bi-polar disorder is characterized by extreme mood swings ranging from depression to manic behaviors. However, there are effective treatments to deal with the severe pain and uncontrollable feelings of despair associated with a mood disorder, and the caring and experienced staff at MAPPS is ready to assist with a focused treatment plan to help our patients return to a brighter outlook on life.

We provide treatment services for...
