Addiction Treatment
About MAPPS Addiction Treatment
Services
Substance abuse is a complex medical illness that affects people
of every age, race, gender and economic class. It is a disease
that places an enormous stress on the addicted individual, as
well as their family and friends. However, the good news is that
substance abuse is a TREATABLE illness. At MAPPS we offer a
variety of treatment programs to help those suffering from
addiction to enter a place of recovery and become happy,
successful and well-adjusted people.
We provide treatment services for...
- Alcohol abuse and dependency
- Drug abuse and dependency
Our Treatment Program
To guide you on your road to recovery, MAPPS specializes in
providing addiction treatment services to adults and adolescents. Our addiction treatment programs
are offered both in English and Spanish, and include
behavioral therapies, medication as well as the combination of
both. Behavioral therapies, such as counseling and cognitive
therapy offer people strategies for coping with their drug
cravings while teaching ways to avoid drugs and prevent relapse,
and to help them deal with relapse if it occurs.
In such cases where it is appropriate, we work closely with
the referral source, including physicians, schools, DFCS, Counselors, employers, or representatives of the legal
system.
The methods of treatment for substance abuse are as individual
and unique as the people being treated. We tailor our course of
treatment to meet the specific needs of the patient, therefore
our methods of treatment can occur in a variety of settings, in
many different forms, and for different lengths of time. Because
alcohol and drug addiction is typically a chronic disorder
characterized by occasional relapses, it is important to realize
that treatment is a long-term process that may involve multiple
interventions and attempts at abstinence. No matter where a
person is on their path of addiction and/or recovery, the
experienced and caring professionals at MAPPS can help.
